This June the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians celebrates pride month with all of our LGBTQIA+ members, their family, friends, and clients. Dermal Health Professionals are an important source of affirmative health care for the LGBTQIA+ communities in Australia

World Hand Hygiene Day
Hand hygiene has the capacity to save lives when performed at the right moments in health care delivery and using the right practice for those moments.
When performed correctly and at the right moments it not only protects our patients but it protects us as health care providers. Including assisting to maintain skin health, particularly of our hands.

Eczema Awareness Month
May is Eczema Awareness Month and this is a good opportunity for dermal health professionals to focus on evidence-based, maintenance of the skin barrier. The Eczema Association of Australia (https://www.eczema.org.auworks to raise awareness of the impact of eczema on those that experience this condition.

Rosacea Awareness Month
According to the National Rosacea Society (https://www.rosacea.org) it is estimated that Rosacea could affect as many as 415 million people globally, and many that experience Rosacea don't know they have the condition. Learn more about the updates in research and evidence based practice in this area.

Stress Awareness Month
Stress is part of all our lives. At times this can help us perform better and keeps us safe through our fight, flight, or freeze reflexes. Stress is no longer good for us when it becomes chronic and the demands of stress exceed the resources we have to manage those demands. Learn more about how we can identify stress in ourselves and others including our family, friends, colleagues and patients as well as strategies to assist with managing stress.
